I used to crash diet before every vacation, diet for bodybuilding shows and then binge myself into oblivion after each one, and spent years normalizing symptoms that kept me from feeling my best because I was told to.

My journey didn't start with clinical precision; it started with 900 calories a day and three hours in the gym. I entered the bodybuilding world and quickly spiraled into a cycle of binge eating and extreme restriction. I was "lean," but I was judgmental, miserable, and completely disconnected from my own biology.
When I finally pulled out of competition, I gained 45 pounds back in a matter of months. I was humbled by the universe. I had piles of jeans in my closet... "this is me at this size," "this is me at that size" and I realized I had to stop trying to lose weight and start learning how to have a healthy relationship with food and my body.
But the real turning point came when my health took a nosedive. After years on birth control, back-to-back miscarriages, and a bout with COVID, I was deathly ill. My doctor ran standard labs and told me everything was "fine." But I was inflamed, bloated 24/7, and my hair was falling out. I knew everything was not fine.
I had to become my own advocate. I became a functional practitioner, ran the deep data, and discovered my cortisol was tanked, I had Hashimoto’s, and my gut was a disaster. That was the moment I realized that "looking fit" and "being healthy" are not the same thing. I stopped settling for "normal" and started demanding optimal.
I was naturally “thin” in high school because I was so active in sports, but I would wear trash bags to sweat *cringe*, ran any time I wanted to lose weight because I thought “feeling the burn” meant the fat was shredding off of my body, and I would eat as little as possible in the days leading up to a social event or vacation in an effort to drop lbs as quickly as possible.
And once I became a personal trainer and competed in bodybuilding shows, I realized that much of what was being taught in the health + fitness industry… wasn’t healthy at all.
More than 90% of diets fail and the average person will attempt 126 diets in their lifetime (and still never reach their goal).
I now coach the skeptics, the “I’ve tried it all”s, the “nothing works for me”s, and the women who almost accepted that they were stuck and teach them everything I have learned that goes against industry beliefs.
